Overview
The sports betting industry is rapidly growing, with millions of users seeking to enhance their betting strategies and increase their chances of winning. However, most existing platforms fall short in providing comprehensive analytical tools and personalized insights. Users often have to rely on multiple sources to gather information, making the process time-consuming and cumbersome. Additionally, the lack of a social component limits community interaction and the sharing of strategies, leaving users isolated in their decision-making process. This project aims to address these gaps by offering an integrated solution that combines AI-driven analytics with social media features, providing a one-stop platform for sports bettors.

Solution
The proposed solution is a state-of-the-art sports betting analysis platform available on both web and mobile applications. It leverages advanced AI algorithms to provide predictive analytics and real-time data, helping users make informed betting decisions. The platform also integrates social media functionalities, allowing users to share content, follow others, and engage in discussions, thereby fostering a vibrant community.
Objective
Develop a User-Centric Platform:
Create an intuitive and engaging user interface that simplifies the betting process and caters to users of all experience levels.
Ensure consistency and accessibility across both web and mobile platforms.
Integrate Advanced AI Capabilities:
Utilize machine learning algorithms to analyze historical data, player statistics, and other relevant factors to predict match outcomes.
Facilitate Community Engagement:
Implement social media features such as content sharing, commenting, and following to encourage user interaction and community building.
Enable users to post videos, images, and text about matches and betting strategies.
Provide Real-Time Data and Insights:
Deliver real-time updates on match statistics, odds, and betting opportunities, ensuring users have the latest information at their fingertips.
Implement notifications and alerts for key events and updates.

In crafting the final design, our team prioritized user enhancements in two key design areas:

By outlining the steps users would take to achieve their goals, I identified pain points and areas needing improvement in the design. This allowed me to make informed decisions on streamlining the user experience and simplifying navigation.

As a Lead Product Designer, I played a pivotal role in onboarding the development team to our product development process. I facilitated a comprehensive understanding of the clients' requirements and led the communication efforts, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders.
Recognizing that some stakeholders were bettors themselves, I integrated the team into the app testing phase, allowing them to become end users and gain firsthand experience. This approach provided valuable insights and helped the team see the project's big picture. Sharing research and testing results within the company enriched my design decisions and provided leadership with critical context, ultimately influencing the product's direction.

Research
User Preference for Personalized Insights

One of the most important research findings was that users highly value personalized insights and recommendations. Many users, especially those newer to sports betting, felt overwhelmed by the vast amount of information available. They expressed a strong preference for AI-driven analytics that could offer tailored betting tips and predictions based on their interests and past behavior. This finding underscored the importance of integrating advanced machine learning algorithms to deliver relevant, personalized content, making the platform more user-friendly and engaging.
Desire for Community Interaction
Another critical finding was the users' desire for a social component within the betting platform. Users expressed a strong interest in being able to share their thoughts, experiences, and strategies with others, as well as follow and learn from more experienced bettors. This highlighted the need for social media-like features, such as posting, commenting, following, and sharing multimedia content. The inclusion of these features would not only enhance user engagement but also foster a sense of community, making the platform more dynamic and interactive.

Unlike formal usability testing with predefined tasks and metrics, I adopted a more relaxed and spontaneous approach by conducting guerrilla usability testing.
This method allowed me to gather flexible, approachable, and adaptable feedback, suited to our specific circumstances.
